I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS IS MY JOB. SO MUCH FUN AND STILL LOVING IT AFTER 17 YEARS. New Orleans native, Tammy grew up in a group home for girls after her mother was murdered across the street from her childhood home. In high school, she won a $10,000 Coca Cola Martin Luther King scholarship. She made her case to Vocational Rehabilitation Association that she was a handicap of the state due to the fact that she didn't have parents and wanted to go to college. That bit of genus landed Tammy another $2,500 a semester for college. This allowed her to attend the college of her choice. Without the scholarships, she would have had to attend a state college. In May, 1993, Tammy graduated from Xavier University of Louisiana with a bachelor in Accounting. It wasn't until after she graduated from college that she decided to become a cosmetologist and enrolled in Molers Beauty College. Thirteen months later, Tammy graduated from Molers and was ready to put the skills she had accumulated, to work in the real world. She was also ready to leave New Orleans. She packed herself and her 4 year old son and relocated to Houston in 1995. She started her life in Houston as a single mother on welfare. But for Tammy, failure is not an option. She started from scratch, worked hard, and used her technical skills as well as her training from college. In 2000, just 5 years later, she opened her very own hair salon. Now here we are 13 years later and look how Tammy has grown. She is expanding and moving her hair salon to a new location. Tammy says she presses forward because and I quote "she comes up with solutions, not excuses." Tammy offers superior customized hair care service. She is an ole school hair stylist with a new school flire about her. Tammy still uses the orginial Kizure marcel curling irons, the preferred tool for hair curling for the professional hairstylist. These tools allow Tammy to achieve that look of precision detailed hair curling so many women desire. She sets her own stantards and then work hard to exceed them. She specializes in Soft Healthy Natural Hair, Virgin Relaxers, Keratin Protein Hair Straightening Treatments, short hair cuts, black women hairstyles, permanent hair coloring, damage hair repair from overprocessed or underprocessed hair caused by improper application of relaxers or permanent hair coloring.
